Scott holds a Bachelors of Commerce majoring in Finance and Insurance & Risk Management, from the University of Calgary. Scott has also completed the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook, the Professional Financial Planners course, and the Branch Managers Course.
Scott’s approach to managing his client’s portfolio fits well with the Retire First team, as he takes an active approach to asset management. He believes that evaluating industry, economic and global trends as well as solid value investing are paramount to producing good returns for his clients. “Buying the right company, in the right industry, at the right time for a fair price” is the key belief driving Scott’s investments for his clients.
After many years of living and playing hockey at both the professional level and on the Canadian National Team, Scott and his wife Michelle, decided to move to Red Deer 6 years ago. Today, Scott and Michelle are parents to a four year old daughter and eighteen month old son and are fully entrenched in the community and confident that they made the right decision to call Central Alberta home. Some of the activities Scott enjoys include; hockey, golf, tennis, squash, and bike riding as well as spending as much time as possible with his family.
